- Lipoblastoma is an uncommon benign adipocytic tumor of infant and early childhood.
- It accounts for approximately 30% of adipocytic tumors in children.
- It is usually diagnosed within the first 3 years of life and only rarely seen over the age of 8 years.
- The treatment of choice is wide surgical excision
- Imaging finding
- USG
Lipoblastoma more often appears as relatively homogeneous hyperechoic mass. - MR
Well-lobulated masses with high signal intensity on T1- and T2-weighted images reflecting high-fat content.
Liposarcoma is hardly differentiated from lipoblastoma, but liposarcoma is extremely rare in children.

Note the signal of mass is suppressed on fat saturation sequence.
