Definition : Osteonecrosis of metatarsal head (2nd metatarsal head)

13 ~ 18 yr, Girl, 2nd > 3rd or 4th metatarsals

Progressive pain, edema

  • IMAGING FINDING
    • RADIOGRAPH
      • Flattening, sclerosis, fragmentation of metatarsal head, osteochondral fragment, widening of adjacent joint space, periostitis of metadiaphysis
        – Sequelae : deformitym osteoarthritis
    • MR
      • Avascular necrotic bone, joint effusion, adjacent soft tissue edema
