What is Crista terminalis?

Crista terminalis is a horseshoe or twisted C-shaped fibromuscular ridge in the right atrium (RA).
Crista terminalis contains nerve fiber connecting SA node and AV node.

Crista terminalis originates from the atrial septum, extends anteriorly, goes toward the right of the superior vena cava (SVC) orifice
