Bands in the heart : Chiari network

What is the Chiari network?

Chiari network, also referred to as Chiari remnant or right atrial net, is a netlike meshwork made of threadlike strands in the RA.

It is caused by incomplete resorption of the right valve of the sinus venosus, which also contributes to the IVC (eustachian) and coronary sinus (thebesian) valves.

Chiari network is seen in 2%–14% of the population
