Unroofed coronary sinus = Coronary sinus type ASD

What is unroofed coronary sinus?

Unroofed coronary sinus is a rare type of ASD.
The defect is inferior and slightly anterior to the fossa ovalis, at the expected site of the coronary sinus ostium.
Part or all of the common wall between coronary sinus and left atrium is absent.
It is often associated with a persistent left SVC that joins the roof of the left atrium

Pediatric Cardiology Vol. 21, No. 4, 2000
An unroofed coronary sinus is a rare congenital cardiac anomaly in which there is partial (either focal or fenestrated) or complete absence of the roof of the coronary sinus, resulting in a large shunt between the left atrium ( LA ) and the coronary sinus ( CS ).
