- Painful inflammation of the calcaneal apophysis
- No fever
- Common cause of heel pain in pediatric patients
- 11 to 15 years in boys
- 8 to 13 years in girls
- When patient has fever, Osteomyelitis should be ruled out
- Usually normal in radiographs
- MR : edematous changes within the calcaneal apophysis
