Amiodarone results in increased density of liver in NECT
– Most other toxins result in decreased density due to steatohepatitis ± hepatocellular necrosis

• Amiodarone and other drugs cause phospholipidosis
– Granular, foamy appearance of hepatocytes
– Amiodarone gets trapped within lysozymes
– Hepatocyte swelling
